Telling the Story of Your Life: A Free Memoir Writing Workshop

Telling the Story of Your Life: free memoir writing workshop at Orinda Library

  • February 19, 1 – 4 p.m.  Author and writing instructor, Margaret Lucke leads a 3 hour workshop.  Preregistration required by visiting ccclib.org or at the Orinda Library information desk, 925-254-2184

Do you have stories from your life that you’d like to share with your family or with the world? Writing a memoir is a great way to gain and give insight into the events, people, and places that have been significant for you. This workshop will help you discover ways to give shape to your unique personal story, to honor your own truth and wisdom, and to make your experiences come alive for your readers. You will get a head start on the writing process and come away with fresh ideas about how to tell your story in a clear and compelling way.

Instructor Margaret Lucke has always been fascinated by the power of stories. She is the author of two novels, and two how-to books on writing.  As a writing coach and developmental editor, she has worked directly with many authors of memoirs and autobiographical fiction to help them achieve their writing goals. She has taught writing classes around the Bay Area since 1994. Visit her at www.margaretlucke.com.
