Michael J. Sandel is the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Government at Harvard University, where he has taught political philosophy since 1980. He is the author of numerous books, most recently What Money Can't Buy: The Moral Limits of Markets and Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do? He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2002 and served on the George W. Bush administration's President's Counicl on Bioethics.
