You're invited to Bentley School for the 2013 Speaking of Diversity Evening featuring Holly Gordon, producer of thought-provoking documentary Girl Rising (http://10x10act.org/girl-rising/), which chronicles short films about the transformative impact of educating girls and young women from developing countries around the world. The film features voice narration from Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez and several other reknowned actresses. A distinguished panel of guests will also join Holly to discuss the social impacts of educating women around the world.

At the event, Ms. Gordon will also be receiving this year’s Bentley Freedom Award. This annual award honors the struggle for freedom and human rights for all people around the world, and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who embodied the spirit of the American Civil Rights Movement through education and a commitment to non-violence. Past recipients have included: The Quilters of Gees Bend (2009), the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (2010), Civil Rights activist Fred T. Korematsu (2011), and Burmese journalist and peace activist Min Zin (2012).

Ms. Gordon leaves Friday morning to debut her film at Sundance, and we will be lucky enough to preview clips of the documentary before she heads off!
