“An extraordinary work of timely and provocative themes...This novel reminds us that above all, Eggers is a writer of books, and a writer of the highest order….An outstanding achievement in Eggers's already impressive career, and an essential read.”—Carmela Ciuraru, The San Francisco Chronicle

Amid a global tide of economic recession, businessman Alan Clay seeks to redefine his value to corporate America and his family by pursuing salvation in Saudi Arabia. This novel offers readers an intimate character study which explores universal issues of professional failure, splintered families, determination, and the interplay between cultural differences and similarities.

The Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda Libraries collaborate on the sixth annual Three Communities, One Book program. Lamorinda Reads! encourage community members to read the same book creating a community-wide book club and encouraging participation in a series of free events that celebrate the book.

Lamorinda Reads! is presented by the Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda Libraries and generously sponsored by Friends of the Lafayette Library, Friends of the Moraga Library, and Friends of the Orinda Library.
