You Know You're From Lamorinda When... Dang! It's a Photo Finish!

Looks like a runoff for our You Know You're From Lamorinda contest. We were going to award prizes for both finalists but...

Settle this thing!

Last week's vote for best finish to the intro: "You know you're from Lamorinda... ended in a tie with six votes each for Alec Binnie's No. 3:

...  "when you ask your neighbor what kind of lawnmower he has and he responds "Guatemalan, I think.'"

... and Kathleen's No. 5:

"... when the swim teams need a rule that au pairs can't sub for parents timing at meets."

Now, I was going to award a prize for each but, hey, the market isn't so good and accounting is screaming at me for handing out all that schwag at the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival so I'm going to put it back in your hands.

Vote for your fave. No editorializing, please. Don't like it? Don't vote for it. All votes tabulated by end of business Friday, Sept. 30.

Rock the vote... and make one of two people happy for a day. Prize: a $50 Starbucks Gift Card or $50 Gift Certificate for the spa at Lafayette Park Hotel.

On several occasions, I have seen 5-6 chickens pecking their way down their steep driveway on theRead More east side of Saint Mary's Road, very close to the Cattle Chute. I had not read this story earlier. On 6/3 or 6/4, I saw a black hen, alone, out in the road right at the point of the Moraga Commons. It was pecking the pavement on Moraga Road, as cars turning north from Saint Mary's Road were avoiding it. I hope the chicken crossed the road to the trail on the other side. Better yet, I hope it turned around and followed that trail right back to the Cattle Chute and home.
