Contra Costa Food Bank Mounts Its Virtual Food Drive

The Food Bank of Contra Costa encourages citizens to help the hungry through its "Virtual Food Drive." Select the foods to donate and pay via your computer.

"Fight hunger with a click from your computer," says the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

In addition to the regular method of collecting food items left by donors at special drop-off locations, the Food Bank is also sponsoring a "Virtual Food Drive." Donors can go online and chose which foods to contribute and then submit a payment for them.

It not only saves time and money but also enables the Food Bank to meet the growing food need with grocery items that are not donated in sufficient quantity through the traditional food-collection drive.
