Dr. Jill Pindar is a bay area native and was born and raised in Fremont, California. In January of 2013, Dr. Pindar joined Contra Costa Veterinary Hospital in Moraga, California as the new full time veterinarian.
As a little girl Dr. Pindar wanted to be a variety of things such as a newscaster and a dancer. It wasn’t until high school that she realized that becoming a veterinarian was what she wanted to do. She knew that she loved animals and had a desire to help people and becoming a veterinarian fulfilled both.
After graduating from Western University of Health Sciences with her Docorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Pindar enrolled in a 1 year rotating small animal internship with East Bay Veterinary Specialists in Emergency. Here she gained clinical experience while she worked side-by-side with some of the Bay Area’s top veterinary specialists in Dentistry, Surgery, Dermatology, Emergency, Internal Medicine and more. Once complete with her internship, Dr. Pindar began practicing in her hometown of Fremont, California as an emergency clinician, and later as a family veterinarian where she also worked with Purrfect Cat Rescue and Ohlone Humane Society. In January of 2013, Dr. Pindar made the move to Moraga where she has since been practicing at Contra Costa Veterinary Hospital as our full time veterinarian.
During her summer breaks from college and veterinary school Dr. Pindar worked as a veterinary technician at Animal Eye Care, a veterinary ophthalmology practice. During her 9 years there she developed a strong interest in veterinary ophthalmology. Her first years as a veterinarian were spent as an emergency veterinarian which remains a passion. She also enjoys internal medicine and cardiology.
Outside of the clinic you can find Dr. Pindar out and about with her family and friends and taking her Golden Retriever, Emmy, on runs. Golf is a fairly new hobby of hers which she enjoys playing as well as attending PGA tournaments. If asked what else she would be other than a veterinarian Dr. Pindar would say that she would have been an interior decorator since she really enjoys decorating.
