The doors of Moraga's latest addition to the local restaurant scene opened softly last week with the gentle opening of the New Delhi Bistro in the Rheem Valley Center.
Owner Roos Pal, who many of you know from her work at at the other end of town, told Patch this was going to happen quite a while ago and it's nice to see things come to fruition. Roos said she knew there was a demand for ethnic foods locally and that she hoped to meet that need with the New Delhi. The doors opened for a "soft opening" Friday.
Will Moragans think the time is right for a little Chicken Tikka? We'll see, but many well-traveled locals have privately expressed their secret cravings for fare of this type. Look for a grand opening soon when Roos gets the restaurant operation humming along the way she wants it.
New Delhi Bistro is between T.J. Maxx and Mountain Mike's Pizza.
The food was good, prices were decent. Glad to see that there's an Indian place nearby -- I wish them luck.
Although all the customers seemed to be sampling the Indian food, they also have a full sandwich set up in case you like your Delhi "H-less." A welcome addition.
