'Best of Lamorinda' Series Launches Monday

Your mission: Name the best place to get a sandwich in Lamorinda. Add a suggestion to the comments and we might just add it to Monday's poll.

Lamorinda Patch on Monday will kick off its first ever Best of Patch series.

In the coming weeks, our readers can vote for their favorite businesses and service providers in a number of fun and useful categories.

Every week we'll post a poll and ask users to vote for their favorite. Readers can comment to explain their vote and rate and review the business listing on the Lamorinda Patch Places page.

Then, on Friday, check back for the results. Winning businesses will get a nifty Best of Patch certificate.

(Because our poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, comments and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch).

First up: Best Place to Buy a Sandwich In Lamorinda. Know of one? Suggest it in the comments then look for it on our poll Monday morning!

Hands down best sandwich (coming from a long-time New Yorker) -- Fiona's Pantry 3732 Mt. Diablo (up the hill on the bottom floor of the 2nd white building). The fresh sour dough rolls piled high with your choice of quality meats and/or veggies are unmatched in Lamo (or the West Coast as far as I've seen). I'm not affiliated with the business in any way (other than being a loyal customer).

Never heard of it. But when a New Yawker raves about a place, I check it out. They have a healthy disregard for BS!

Bianca's gets my vote. A short drive though and you can be at Morucci's in WC. Simply awesome sammy's and homemade Oreo cookies.

The deli at Diablo Foods. They will use gluten free bread on request, and anything else that is available in the store. Friendly people too:)

Europa has the best corned beef, hands down. Also great carved roast beef and fresh turkey!

And unfortunately, rude staff.

I ate at Europa today reluctantly. Their is definitely a lack of warmth. WHich if the food was outstanding I would be able to fathom. Other than their Franch dip, Reuben,Turkey EVERYTHING on the menu is horrendous. Lacking in quality and taste. The owners are clearly tired and in need of visit by Robert of "Restaurant Impossible". That location is quite possibly the best restaurant property in the entire city and they so underperform. Amazing.
