This from a Patcher we'll just call "Larry" for now:
"Well, my bike got stolen today. I left it in front of Safeway in Lafayette and was right inside the door, at Starbucks, glancing over at it every few seconds. The cameras show me running out the door 18 seconds after it was stolen. The guy who took it, African-American, with a goatee and a white t-shirt, was out of sight."
We've included a photo of his bike.
"The lesson? Leaving anything valuable, even for a few minutes, is inviting problems, even in Lafayette. In that sense, it was my fault, and I hope others learn from my mistake."
Thanks, Larry... we're sorry it had to happen.
