UPDATE: Crews Will Stay Overnight At Scene Of Extinguished Four-Alarm Grass Fire

Update 10 p.m.: Orinda-Moraga Fire Department officials said there are still hot spots in the fire area and they will keep a couple crews on scene overnight to make sure the blaze doesn't flare up. Ninety crew members were involved in the effort to extinguish the flames. One firefighter suffered minor burns.

Update, 2:55 p.m.: A four-alarm brush fire in Orinda burned eight acres, but did not do any structural damage before fire crews contained it shortly before 3 p.m., according to the Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

Firefighters are battling a three-alarm vegetation fire in Orinda this afternoon, a fire dispatcher said. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District received a report of a fire near Ivy Drive at 1:23 p.m. Moraga-Orinda fire department is also on scene, according to ConFire's Twitter account. The fire is threatening structures, a dispatcher said.
