More Details Set For Classic Film Hall of Fame

Most recently added was a showing of 'The Sound of Music' with an appearance by Charmian Carr, who played Liesl, at the film history weekend May 10-12 at the Rheem Theatre, Moraga.

Plans are coalescing for a red-carpet film history weekend in Moraga May 10-12.

That's when a classic film weekend will launch a Classic Film Hall of Fame at the Rheem Theatre, 350 Park St., Moraga — including personal appearances by Mickey Rooney and Cloris Leachman.

Also added to the lineup was actress Charmian Carr, who played Liesl von Trapp in The Sound of Music. She will discuss the making of the classic musical after a showing at 7 p.m. Friday, May 10.

Rooney, the former child actor who is now 92, is due to be there for the showing of his film National Velvet at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11.

Leachman will attend for the 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12, showing of her film Young Frankenstein. That will be followed by a a 6 p.m. Red Carpet Arrival and 7 p.m. Hall of Fame Inductee Ceremony as the first inductees are feted at the hall of fame displays in the Rheem Theatre corridors.

There are individual prices for film showings and VIP events, as well as an $80 festival pass good for all films and the hall of fame ceremony.
