Transit of Venus

The Transit of Venus is a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event! Bring family and friends & drop by to view this rarest eclipse where Venus will actually move across the face of the sun.  NASA deems this an extraordinarily important event in astronomical history - it won't occur again until 2117.

This event will include these not-to-be-missed activities, designed for all ages:

3:30-7:00 Transit Viewing - Free - In our outdoor amphitheater professional & amateur astronomers will be on hand with telescopes and super cool viewing glasses
- Live webcast of the Transit via video feed from NASA
- NASA Scientist on hand to share info on transits, the sun and the solar system.

7:00-8:00 Science Café - $5
-Saint Mary’s professor and astronomer Dr. Ron Olowin will discuss the significance of this event and how it relates to astronomy through the ages.
