The Peter Pan Foundation, known for it's family-friendly youthful musical fundraiser productions, is 'growing up' this summer with it's production of the musical "Aida".  The musical, the work of Elton John and Tim Rice, is based on Verdi's opera. It tells the story of a forbidden love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess forced into captivity, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love.

The PPF has brought in the talent of local (and former Broadway) director Ryan Weible and The Peter Pan Foundation's Founder/Director (and Diablo Magazine's Threads Of Hope Winner 2008), Leslie Noel to direct and musically direct the production. The cast includes over 50 local students and performers, from the Lamorinda, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Clayton, Concord, Berkeley and Orinda areas... all wanting to use their talents to raise money for terminally ill children.

The Peter Pan Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded by Leslie Noel in 2007. The goals of the foundation are best summarized in the organization’s vision: “The Peter Pan Foundation exists to inspire children of all ages to reach their full potential by encouraging confidence, character and creativity through music and theatre, while instilling the value and benefits of community outreach”. The PPF has led hundreds of local youth in philanthropic activities: kids helping kids, using their musical talents and the arts to entertain and raise money for local charities. Beneficiaries have included Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and other local charities. The local community has long-supported and enjoyed the Peter Pan Foundation shows, and this summer’s production will show an all new side of The Peter Pan Foundation- while helping local kids in need.
