The little theatre that could! Hapgood Theatre, the East Bay’s newest and most ambitious Equity Contract Theatre has jumped boldly ahead with its second production of their 2010-2011 Season “Side By Side By Sondheim”.
Ms. Ground* (Equity Member) is featured on “Simply Sondheim, a 75th Birthday Salute and has starred in the National Tour of Les Miserables (Fantine) , and Menopause The Musical and has been seen locally at 42nd Street Moon, San Jose Repertory Theatre and Theatre Q. She is joined in this production by fellow cast members Stewart Lyle * (Theaterworks, Mt. Play), Juliet Heller (42nd St. Moon) and Erez Shek.
The evening will include a dazzling array of some of the composer-lyricist’s best-known songs features numbers from landmark shows that revolutionized the musical theatre with their masterful craft and astounding creativity: Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Anyone Can Whistle, and Pacific Overtures, not to mention the classics written with musical theatre giants Leonard Bernstein, Jule Styne and Richard Rodgers, West Side Story, Gypsy and Do I Hear A Waltz?

About the Artist:
Kelly Ground is featured on the CD “Simply Sondheim a 75th Birthday Salute (Kritzerland). She originated the role of Fantine in the National Tour of Les Miserables at the Curran theatre and The Iowa Housewife in the San Francisco National Company of Menopause, The Musical. Other credits include: An Inspector Calls (Nat. tour), San Diego Rep, Woodminster Summer Musicals, San Jose Rep, The Mountain Play (Dean Goodman Award), Theatre Q. She has sung internationally on Cunard Lines and has been seen at The O’Neill Center, Cabaret Conference and the Sundance Theatre Institute.
Kelly is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.
