Rhapsody! -- A Concert with the Gold Coast Chamber Players

Gold Coast Chamber Players continue their 2012 season on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. with Rhapsody!, a mix of chamber music for winds, strings and piano. The program gets its title from the centerpiece composition, George Enescu’s 'Romanian Rhapsody.' Originally for full orchestra, this chamber music arrangement retains the folk quality of the original piece.

Leading off this program is 'Jet Whistle' by Brazilian composer, Heitor Villa-Lobos. The concert will also include 'Suite for clarinet, violin and piano' by Armenian composer, Alexander Arutunian, and local composer, Martin Rokeach’s composition, 'Going Up?' for 8 Strings and a Whistle  (flute, viola and cello).  Meet the musicians at the reception following the performance. All concerts at the Community Hall in the Lafayette Library, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. For tickets, please visit our website at http://www.gcplayers.org or call the Chamber of Commerce at (925) 284-7404.  Ticket pricing is $30 general, $25 senior, $10 student.  For more information call the Gold Coast Music Studio at (925) 283-3728
