Join acclaimed area photographer Stephen Joseph and local author Linda Rimac Colberg for a free digital presentation of the recently published book, Mount Diablo: The Extraordinary Life and Landscapes of a California Treasure at the Moraga Library, Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m.

Mount Diablo is one of Northern California’s most significant and adored treasures. With its incomparable natural beauty, rich geological mysteries, and endless recreational opportunities, we’re fortunate to have this extraordinary land in our own backyards.

Mount Diablo Interpretive Association (MDIA) has just published a first ever fine art photography book, Mount Diablo, The Extraordinary Life and Landscapes of a California Treasure, showcasing the beauty and diversity of Mount Diablo, featuring the art of photographer Stephen Joseph and authored by local writer Linda Rimac Colberg.

Stephen Joseph has been hiking and photographing Mount Diablo for 25 years; his lush images and panoramic creations are well known and highly prized. Stephen’s presentation takes the audience on an up close and personal journey around Mount Diablo, with a surprise at every turn, as he shares exquisite photographs and personal tales of the popular places and hidden faces of this natural wonder. You have never seen Mount Diablo quite like this – in panoramas spanning 250 degrees and exquisite portraits rich in light, color, and detail. You’ll want to lace up your hiking boots and plan a day on the mountain. Stephen will discuss some of his favorite places on the mountain with commentary about capturing a moment and creating an image through the art of photography. Joining Stephen and Linda are representatives from MDIA, who can discuss the amenities and offerings of Mount Diablo State Park for wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts. The presentation includes Q&A, and finishes up with book sales and signing.

This program is free and open to the public.  Pre-registration is not required.  For more information contact Beth Girshman at bgirshma@ccclib.org or 925-376-6825, ext 200.
