Friends of Big Band Jazz presents the Mike Vax Big Band, with vocalist Denise Perrier, in a Sunday afternoon concert and dance, October 2 at the Rheem Theater in Moraga.
The Mike Vax Big Band is a professional 18 piece big band comprised of musicians from many of the most famous big bands, including those of Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Cab Calloway, and many more. Denise Perrier is one of the foremost blues and jazz vocalists in the Bay Area. Sponsored by Friends of Big Band Jazz, a nonprofit corporation that supports jazz music education. Proceeds from the concert will benefit scholarship funds for student musicians.
