Although her collection is very much one of sophisticated, contemporary design –  “you could go from your yoga class to an elegant evening out “– Schempp sees her work bridging the traditions of the East with the tastes of the West by “combining fashion and spirituality to transcend cultural boundaries.”

In fact, the name of her company, Prima Jiva, means “higher self.” “To me fashion is not about clothes. My purpose for my designs is to convey a message of unity, of oneness,” she said. “I design so that my clothes will leave you with a feeling of serenity, love and timeless elegance.”
