Classical and Jazz Concert presented by the Friends of the Moraga Library

Carol Alban will perform with pianist Miles Graber at the Moraga Public Library on August 3rd at 7pm. Their eclectic program will include Classical and Jazz favorites as well as original works composed by Ms. Alban. They will be joined by guest flutist Nancy Tyler.

Carol Alban (flute/vocals) is principal flutist with the Bay Area Chamber Symphony and was a featured performer at the 2008 World Flute Fest at Carnegie Hall. She has performed at Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, CBGB's, Freight and Salvage, Yoshi's, and the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. She assisted Lady Galway in the teen portion of the Galway Master Class in Napa, California. Carol recently released a solo flute CD and teaches privately in Moraga.

Miles Graber (piano) studied at Juilliard and has performed with such world class musicians as Itzhak Perlman, Camilla Wicks, and Sarah Chang. He has accompanied master classes by Sir James Galway, Midori, Nadia Salerno-Sonnenberg, Joseph Silverstein, Pamela Frank, Alexander Barantchik, Lynn Harrell and others. He is principal pianist for the Bay Area chapter of the National Association of Composers USA, an organization that sponsors and promotes performances of new works by contemporary composers.
Nancy Tyler (flute) lives and teaches privately in Santa Rosa. Nancy has performed with the Bay Area Chamber Symphony, at the 2008 World Flute Fest at Carnegie Hall, the 2009 Bach and Beyond Concert at Lincoln Center, Yoshi's, the Berkeley Piano Club and Freight and Salvage. Nancy and Carol were featured performers in the lobby concert at the James Galway Master Class in Napa and frequently perform together at special events.
