Do Scary Movies Still Work on Date Night?

Back in the day a good way to get the girlfriend okay with a comforting arm around her shoulders was to take her to a scary picture. Friday night is Fright Night at the Rheem Theater - let us know how things go.

Events at the newly renovated Rheem Theater are quickly becoming the hottest ticket in town for area kids looking for a place to dance or watch a scary vintage movie.

The don't get much creepier than 1954's bug-fest "Them," ready to roll in time for date night Friday, and the management at the Rheem Theater is turning the whole thing into a party, with "Queen of Scream" Vanessa on hand after the screening to organize contests and giveaways.

If you're into retro cinema or are just looking for something to do you may want to check out a vintage screamer from the days when they used to wire the theater seats with electricity to give moviegoers that extra, thrilling jolt.
