The Week Ahead: Lafayette Library Purchase, The Terraces Project, Scouts' Christmas Trees

Some of the meetings and events happening this week in Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda

On Monday evening, the Lafayette City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

On the agenda is a proposal for the city to purchase the old library at 952 Moraga Road from Contra Costa County for $1.9 million.

Also on Monday evening, the Lafayette Design Review Commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Manzanita Room of the Lafayette Parks and Recreation offices, 500 St. Mary's Road.

On the agenda is another public hearing on the plans for a 315-apartment development called The Terraces at 3233 Deer Hill Road.

On Friday afternoon, the Lafayette Boy Scout Troop 224 will open its annual Christmas tree lot.

The trees will be for sale beginning at noon at the scout's lot at 3903 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Starting Saturday, the lot will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily until they sell out.
