Most Lafayette residents don't want to talk about this week's loss of a true native son. Various messages have popped up around town, left in flour on a hillside overlooking his high school or scrawled in crayon and craft paper and pinned to a signpost.
Memorial service scheduled for Tuesday night, 7 p.m. at Acalanes. Olson grew up playing on Lafayette's sports courts and in his latter years allowed his inner actor to shine in high school stage productions.
The town has taken his death to heart. Monday night's city council meeting was adjourned in his memory.
