Seen Around Lamorinda: "Donate, Or We Unleash the Flamingos" and "Calfironia Dreamin'"

A flock of exotic birds strut their stuff in Lafayette, the grammarians check up on the teachers and Moraga Safeway gets a heavenly visitor!

Patch gets frequent notes from Lamorindans who spot unusual or funny things in our neck of the woods and we found these three snippets in our "in" basket this morning.

The first came from Carolyn Deily of Lafayette, who woke up Saturday morning to find her front yard covered in leggy pink flamingos -- courtesy of the local Young Life group from Acalanes High School.

"They ask for a donation to come and clean it up," Carolyn reports. "Everyone in my neighborhood got such a kick out of it!"

The second image arrived courtesy of "Concerned Former Teacher" (hmmm) who spotted a slightly mangled spelling of our beloved state's name on a local school district website.

Sometimes the fingers just get going a little too fast for their own good, we know!

And the third, an entertaining little ap destined for future appearances on iPhones everywhere, was this cataclysmic "home movie," featuring a idyllic view of a quiet local landmark having its day ruined by a visitor from another world.

You're a creative bunch, you Patchers. And, yes, the Moraga Safeway is still there... sheesh.
