A steady stream of friends, family, extended family and well-wishers turned out to remember Acalanes High School grad and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo student Brett Olson -- who drowned during a weekend float with friends down the Sacramento River.
More than 1,000 people turned out for the Tuesday night vigil, faces aglow in candlelight, listening as friends and Olson's father Michael talked about the gregarious young man many knew as "Bretty."
