These free events are presented by Bay Area Festivals, Inc., which also produces Bay Area KidFest (25th annual edition May 24-26 on Memorial Day weekend in Concord) and this year the second annual Oakland Cat Video Festival in downtown Oakland on Saturday, May 10. Bay Area KidFest has been voted Best Community Event for three consecutive years by readers of Claycord.com with over 15,000 votes cast in the last poll. Bay Area Festivals has donated nearly $70,000 to educational, health, sports and youth non-profits in the past four years.

Producer Jay Bedecarre says, “We had an outstanding response to our inaugural Contra Costa Camp Fair last year so we’re doing two this year! The fair provides families with a one-stop shopping experience as they plan their summer activities.” He adds that there is a wide variety of camps for children, teens and families including day camps, overnight, performing arts, YMCA, scouts and sports.
