Update: Drivers Beware: Moraga Rd. Closed at Mt. Diablo Blvd. This Week

PG&E is performing road work at the intersection every night this week. Daylight traffic should be unaffected.

Most lanes at the intersection of Moraga Rd. and Mt. Diablo Blvd. will be shut down this week beginning at 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., according to PG&E. At least one of the lanes will be open to through traffic.

To make room for expected growth in the city, PG&E is relocating its gas regulator station, moving it to Golden Gate Way and Second St., said a PG&E spokeswoman. The project will involve horizontal drilling to reduce the need for trenches in the road and sidewalks, but the intersection will need to be mostly blocked at night.

The work will continue through Aug. 18.
