Another Look at a Day in the Life of Lafayette

Photos from people who participated in the "Day in the Life of Lafayette" photo contest are continuing to send their photos to Lamorinda Patch as well. The latest photos I received are from Timothy Manning, who had a vision for the longest day of the year.

"I had a couple of visions in my mind for Lafayette's longest day: first light and last light," Manning wrote in an email.

"A few days before the 21st of June I fabricated a Stonehenge arch out rigid insulation board, complete with a faux stone finish. At 5 a.m.on the day of, I arose and erected the structure on the height of Deer Hill Road in Lafayette and photographed the First Light. I thought it was breath-taking.

"I followed up at Johnny's Doughnuts where I was invited to meet some new friends at their regular morning hangout.

"At 'Last Light,' the Lafayette Plaza featured live music and a very lively group enjoyed the evening as the sun bid adieu."

We're posting his first picture today, and will post the others in days to come.

Thanks to Timothy, and Lonna Coleman, for their amazing photos of Lafayette. If you want to share yours, send them to me at jim.caroompas@patch.com.
