And the Best Neighbor In Moraga Is...

Yes, we report stuff that isn't always pretty. But there's a good side to life in LamoBurbia we also feel compelled to write about.

We've got some pretty cool neighbors and this Patch gig of ours gets us out there and meeting more of them every day.

The winds and a neighborhood walk brought Moragan Kay James our way again Tuesday, during our early days as Patch - our combined efforts resulting in a happy homecoming.

Patch likes that sort of spirit in people so seeing Kay brought a smile back to our face - and then we heard of another neighbor in the 300 block of Fernwood Drive who also went above and beyond the call recently.

Turns out Moraga police went to our neighbor's house on July 17 after she reported finding a wallet on her driveway. Moraga police were able to determine the owner's name from information inside and arrangements were made to get it back to the owner - with all contents placed in safekeeping until that could happen.

We just thought that kind of civic kindheartedness was worth writing about - plus it gave us an excuse to post another picture of "Sammy," the bulldog Kay rescued way back when.

It's nice to have good neighbors.

Jeez, what neighbors are supposed to take advantage of you at every opportunity?

Good for her, but does it really deserve "front page news" My neighbor's water pipe broke when they were away. I turned off the water line. They would have done the same for me, or anyone else.

Made a nice break in the usual carnage and gore... such as it is around here!

Thanks! Good neighbors are everywhere. We usually hear about bad neighbors.

Speaking of good neighbors, we were VERY impressed with whoever it was who found the bills we dropped as we were carrying them to the P.O. to mail who obviously mailed them for us! Every one of them was received!

I would be uneasy that a stanger was on my property unless the driveway is on a public street. I would hope the wallet was a neighbor's and not a trespasser.

JD I don't know if the word violates your policy on civil discourse and forbidden phrases but I think Moragan is a *sourpuss!* I for one like hearing about my neighbors doing good things for each other. Thanks!!

After waking up at 7:00am three days in a row to an inconsiderate neighbor using a sledgehammer in his backyard, I read this article with delight, enjoyment and a bit of envy. Thanks for sharing!

Let's see (thumbing through AP stylebook for "forbidden words")... no, sourpuss is allowed. Editor
