Playgroup for Mensan, EG, PG, and/or 2e Children

I am looking to start a play group/parent support group for those of us with EG (exceptionally gifted), PG (profoundly gifted), 2e (twice exceptional), and/or Mensan kids here in the Lamorinda area, and was wondering if there are any families out here who would enjoy getting together with our "spirited" kids and letting them be who and how they are in a relaxed environment (i.e., not have to "police" them at all times)? I am thinking meet ups at parks, museums, zoos, etc., and if we're brave enough, maybe even try a potluck dinner or a lunch out with our kids (ok, I know I'm pushing it with this one, but I'm hoping some you more experienced parents can help to figure this one out)?

I am also hoping the parents in the group can provide support, information, and most importantly humor for each other (because let's admit it, we do need to take a step back and laugh about the craziness of our kids every now and then).

Given the asynchronous development of these types of children I think it would be valuable to open this group up to children of all ages.  My childrens' current obsessions are: cars, trains, and large-scale art projects.

Please email me directly at CelineSherwood@aol.com if you would be interested, and if possible
please include the ages of your children, their current obsession(s), and any ideas you have for get togethers/play dates. I know it sounds like I'm putting an ad out here for "people needed to herd cats," but I really think this can work and would be a valuable resource for our kids as well as parents!

Can't wait to hear from you!
