Lamo JV Rugby Playoff Victory!

LAMO PLAYOFF VICTORY! Your Lamorinda Junior Varsity spotted a quick United Lions of Los Gatos 7-0 lead early in today's playoff round, held at St. Mary's Pat Vicent Memorial Field. After matching the score at 7-7 with a lighting fast long burst of speed by Blake Peterson and a corresponding conversion kick by Michael Stenaro, United struck again, taking the lead 12-7. MacLean Marks barreled down the middle of the field, putting down a try to even the score 12-12. Hayden Bradley followed with a blast down the visitor's sideline as if to say "watch me", taking the first Lamo lead of the day. Another Sophomore, Danny Ritelli struck gold with his first try of the day, allowing MacLean to show off his boot and converting the conversion points. Bradley fired his guns again, striking in the second half to make it 29-12, then Jesse Marlow put up the conversion points this time…31-12. Peterson said enough of this and scored again on a gutsy, tackle breaking sprint to score a try. Then the ball was given to Dylan Wall to put up the conversion points. Have you ever heard of four different kickers converting in one match? After a few late tries by a strong Lions side, final score, 38-26. A very solid performance by all players to put the ball in the hands of the breakaway runners…solid defensive stands all day long against a very strong and willing Los Gatos squad. Way to go JV Rodents, once again, you have made Lamo proud, earning our first Playoff victory of 2014!
