Dear Friends and Fellow Residents of Lafayette,
I am excited to announce my intention to seek election to one of the two upcoming open board member seats on the Lafayette School District Governing Board being vacated by Shayne Silva and Stephenie Teichman. I will strive to continue the excellence that Ms. Silva and Ms. Teichmann brought to the Board during their respective tenures.
I believe that a public school education is one of the most cherished opportunities our country offers to its children. I would like the opportunity to protect and enrich that opportunity for Lafayette’s current students and the students who will follow them.
My family and I have been residents of Lafayette since February 2007. My two boys, Zach and Nate, have attended Lafayette Elementary School and now attend Stanley Middle School. I have been fortunate to meet and work with the District’s teachers and administration as a parent, as a parcel tax election volunteer (Measures B and E), as the Lafayette Elementary School PTA President (2010-2011), and as a current board member of Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE).
I hope you will support my candidacy.
Very truly yours,
Quinlan S. Tom
