A Full Holiday Season for St. Perpetua School

The holiday season is behind us and it was an eventful one at St. Perpetua School. All students form faith families, assembled of children from each grade, at the beginning of each school year. During the Christmas season, faith families gathered to decorate stockings for A Friendly Manor, which received 70 Christmas stockings stuffed with toiletries, perfumes and other items collected by the individual grades for residents of the homeless shelter for women in Oakland. Families from throughout the school also donated gifts to the Samaritan House daycare for inner city youth aged three to 14. Ornaments decorating a Christmas Giving Tree in the school lobby, and students were encouraged to bring home an ornament and attach it to a gift they purchased for the less fortunate children at Samaritan House. The gifts were collected under the tree in the school office through the month of Dec. and then delivered to the daycare prior to Christmas.
In celebration of the Christmas season, children gathered on the final day of school for St. Perpetua's annual Holiday Sharing celebration during which everyone from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade performed a Christmas themed song for families and friends. This was once again punctuated with a giant exclamation mark when parents joined in a very special guest sing-along and all chimed in for the Twelve Days of Christmas, with Father John Kasper at the piano.
But the St. Perpetua Christmas entertainment and cheer was not reserved for campus life. The school's 3rd and 4th Grade Girl Scouts made their annual holiday trek to entertain staff and residents at St. Aegis with their own sweet renditions of eight holiday favorites. Girls made angel decorations and spread the cheer of seasonal celebration and faith with those in the community.
We hope that you will join campus staff and parent volunteers at 9 a.m. on Jan. 14 for the Taste of Kindergarten, a one-hour introduction to life at St. Perpetua from a Kindergartener's perspective. Staff will walk parents through a day in the life of a St. P's Kindergarten student and answer questions. For more information visit: http://stperpetua.org//site/Default.aspx?PageID=178&PageType=17&DomainID=47&ModuleInstanceID=125&EventDateID=6498&CurrentView=month
Also, on Jan. 26 the community is invited to join St. Perpetua families and students for the 9:30 Children's Mass, followed by Open House. If you are considering attending St. Perpetua in the Fall, this is your opportunity to learn more about the school and see what campus life is like firsthand.
