Acalanes Water Polo Invitational Tournament Kicks off Friday at Noon

Sixteen Northern California teams will compete at this weekend's 5th Acalanes Water Polo Invitational, which is being hosted by both Acalanes and Campolindo High Schools.  Games will be played at both schools.
The tournament began when Coach Misha Buchel, tired of dragging his players out to the sweltering heat in the Central Valley to participate in a tournament in what may be described as sub-par pools made the decision to start their own tournament here in Lamorinda.  His decision coincided with the time that Dawn Lynn Lanier was a new parent on his water polo team.  Dawn Lynn stepped up to the challenge and made Misha's idea a reality and she's been director of the tournament since.
The event has become one of the most successful fund raisers for the team, and an incredible polo experience for the girls, who get to play against some other great teams.
The first Varsity game starts tomorrow at 12 noon, and JV plays at Campo at 1:45PM.  If you want to see some great polo games and support your local schools come check it out.  Full schedules can be found here https://sites.google.com/site/acalanesinvitational/
