Acalanes Girls Water Polo Varsity Team Takes Sixth Place at Acalanes 2013 Invitational

The Acalanes girls water polo team had two wins and two losses this weekend at the Acalanes Invitational putting them in sixth place overall.  First place winner was San Ramon Valley with second place going to Campolindo and third place to Miramonte.  

Reilly Fellner lead the Dons in goals in the first game against Washington with a total of 7 shots on goal, resulting in 6 goals, plus a 5-meter shot.  Ellyn Stewart had 4 shots on goal and scored a total of 3.  Hannah Kresnak, Emma Gaffney, Emma Myall and Mija Pritchard each scored 1 apiece.  Julia Mes had 4 shots on goal and Brooke Asterlind had 2 shots.  Goalie Lucy Fellner had 3 saves.

Game two the team saw their first loss to Sir Francis Drake with a score of 5-9.   Chase Lanier scored a total of 2 goals, Reilly Fellner, Ellyn Stewart and Emma Myall each scored 1.

The Lady Don’s redeemed themselves against Rio Americano with a great win putting 9 goals on the board.  Final score was AHS 9 Rio 3.    Ellyn Stewart scored 3, Chase Lanier 2, Hannah Kresnak 2 and Reilly Fellner 2.  Goalies Lucy Fellner had 5 saves and Whitney Hickok had 2.

Unfortunately the fourth and final game against Monte Vista resulted in a loss for the Dons with a final score of 8-7.  Ellyn Stewart and Hannah Kresnak each scored 2 goals in Acalanes final game, Chase Lamier, Emma Myall and Reilly Fellner each scored 1.  Whitney Hickok had 8 saves and Lucy Fellner had 6.
