Moraga's "Mule Man" Makes It To San Luis Obispo

Averaging about 20 miles a day and living on a steady diet of rice and oatmeal, our "Man With No Name" continues to make tracks across the state.

Apparently, you can walk across a Bay Area bridge with three mules in tow and your life's belongings on your back. We called him "Mule Man" when he visited Lamorinda back in August, a rawboned, weather-beaten stranger ostensibly from Marin County who eschews the trappings of modern life and wanders the state with a trusty mule train.

Since he was spotted passing through Moraga to Orinda and we profiled his wayfaring lifestyle, Mule Man has been attracting attention all over the state. Newfound Lamorinda Patch reader Marlene Dix sent us this picture of the nomad, still refusing to give his name or give in to the trappings of modern life, and still sleeping under the stars -- now in San Luis Obispo.
